What is Climate Change?

Climate change is a long-term change in the average weather patterns that have come to define Earth’s local, regional and global climates. The changes observed in Earth’s climate since the early 20th century are primarily driven by human activities, especially the use of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels increase greenhouse gases levels in the atmosphere, raising Earth’s average surface temperature. The human-induced temperature increases are also known as global warming and pose a great threat to all living organisms and the health of the planet. (NASA)
